Where in the Phoenix Beer World?

Do you know where in the Phoenix Beer World, this photo was taken?

Donde esta la cervesza?

The concept is simple. We post a picture that is relevant to the Phoenix beer scene and you try and identify it. Sometimes there will be a larger story involved, but often there will not.

This place underwent a recent renovation at its original 1950's location. A beer, a Styrofoam cooler and a fishing license renewal would have been a typical purchase back then. These days the clientele and beverage of choice is decidedly not beer.
Obviously, from the photo, craft beer is available.

So, for glory and a tip of the glass next time we see you, where in the Phoenix Beer World?  Be a pal and answer in the comments.

  1. It was a popular guess, but it's not correct.

  2. I can definitely see a resemblance to Taste of Tops but the 1950's pedigree betrays that as a plausible answer. The other clues illustrate it's humble blue-collar outdoors-man beginnings and lend clues to it's current up-scale incarnation.

Sportsman’s Fine Wines & Spirits began to focus on wines in 1987. About a year a go the original 32nd st location was renovated. There are 6 cooler doors full of craft and imported bottled beer that you can enjoy in the store with a nosh plate or a panini.

Free wifi and soccer on the TV make this a quiet place to enjoy an afternoon.

Congrats to Chuck N. Ollthough he might be a ringer.
